Modular Skid Process Packages
LINSON OIL engineers and supplies project-specific skid-mounted process packages that integrate process equipment, piping, valves, instruments, electrical/control interfaces, structural framing, inspection and documentation within a defined package boundary.
The skid concept is developed from Process Data, P&ID, Data Sheets, Technical Specifications, battery limits, transport/site restrictions and inspection requirements. Skid dimensions, weight, prefabrication ratio, delivery time, field-installation time, Ex/IP ratings and standard configuration are not universal values.
Process Basis
Define the process duty before defining the skid.
A modular package should preserve the process intent while making the equipment boundary practical for fabrication, inspection, transport and field connection.
Process Data
Flow, composition, pressure, temperature, operating cases, utilities and required process outcome.
P&ID / Equipment List
Equipment tags, line/valve/instrument scope, control functions, relief/drain interfaces and customer tie-ins.
Project Specification
Codes, client requirements, materials, hazardous-area basis if specified, inspection, documentation and approved vendor requirements.
Site / Logistics Basis
Plot space, road/port limits, lifting, installation sequence, maintenance access, destination and field-construction boundaries.
Package Boundary
Make every included item and every field interface explicit.
A clear skid boundary reduces procurement gaps between process equipment, piping, valves, instrumentation, structural steel, electrical/control items, documentation and field tie-ins.
Package Equipment
Define vessels, filters, heaters, pumps, exchangers, dosing equipment or other process items included within the package.
Piping / Valve Interfaces
Identify package piping, valves, drains/vents, relief connections and field tie-in points from the approved P&ID.
Instrument / Electrical Scope
Clarify instruments, junction/interface points, control functions, power/signal requirements and customer-system boundary.
Site Responsibilities
Define foundations, utility supply, inter-skid piping/cabling, final field joints, lifting, erection, commissioning and customer-supplied items.
Equipment / Piping / Valve / Instrument Integration
Coordinate the package as an operating system, not a list of components.
LINSON OIL's documented manufacturing resources include pressure-vessel fabrication, pipe prefabrication, skid assembly and valve/instrument/electrical/control-system integration. Engineering scope also includes pressure-vessel, piping, skid, electrical, instrumentation and control design.
Mechanical Equipment
Confirm equipment orientation, maintenance clearances, support loads, nozzles and lifting/assembly requirements.
Piping & Valves
Coordinate piping class, routing, supports, valves, drains/vents, relief paths and accessible operation/maintenance positions.
Instrumentation & Control
Map each instrument/control function to the P&ID, equipment nozzle/tapping and agreed control-system boundary.
Structure / Access
Develop the frame, platforms, ladders/access, lifting points and shipment splits around equipment and site constraints.
Modularization & Transport
Break the process into modules only after checking transport and site constraints.
He50 project evidence directly supports a skid-mounted design philosophy emphasizing modularization, transport convenience, rapid installation, flexible relocation and factory prefabrication. Those principles are useful, but the shipment split and degree of prefabrication remain project-specific.
- 01 / LIMITS
Transport Envelope
Check road, port, container/breakbulk, lifting and destination constraints before finalizing module size and shipment splits.
- 02 / SPLIT
Module / Shipment Split
Separate modules at practical piping, structural, electrical and control interfaces while preserving field assembly logic.
- 03 / PREBUILD
Factory Preassembly
Preassemble and inspect as much of the agreed package as practical before shipment, without claiming a fixed prefabrication percentage.
- 04 / REJOIN
Field Reconnection
Identify field welds/joints, inter-skid piping, cables, supports and commissioning responsibilities in advance.
Interface Management
Control the interfaces between package, plant and site construction.
| Interface | Clarify | Deliverable / Control |
|---|---|---|
| Process | Feed/product conditions, utility users, relief/drain destinations, package battery limits. | P&ID, process/data sheets, tie-in list and assumptions. |
| Mechanical / Piping | Nozzles, flanges, piping class, field joints, supports, loads and access. | GA, piping layouts/isometrics where applicable, interface schedule. |
| Electrical / Control | Power, signals, package/local control, customer DCS/PLC boundary and cable/interface responsibility. | I/O/interface lists, wiring/control documents as included. |
| Civil / Site / Logistics | Foundation, anchors, lifting, transport, erection space and installation sequence. | Loads/interface data, lifting/shipment information and installation guidance. |
FAT / Documentation
Verify the package against the approved project basis before shipment.
LINSON OIL's quality scope supports material verification/traceability, dimensional inspection, applicable NDT, pressure/leak testing where required, complete-assembly inspection, instrument/electrical/control testing and FAT according to project specification and ITP.
Mechanical Completion
Verify equipment, piping, valves, supports, labels/access and agreed assembly scope before release.
Pressure / Leak / Functional Tests
Apply project-specified pressure, leak, instrument/electrical/control and functional checks where applicable.
Customer / TPI Witness
Coordinate customer, EPC or third-party inspection and witness points according to the approved ITP.
Final Documentation
Compile approved drawings, material/NDT/test/FAT records, manuals, certificates and packing/shipping documents as required.
Site Installation / Commissioning
Plan field execution before the skid leaves the factory.
LINSON OIL's documented support extends from engineering and FAT through export delivery, installation guidance, commissioning, spare parts and after-sales service. Exact field scope is contract-defined.
Site Readiness
Foundation, access, cranes/lifting, utilities, field materials and customer interfaces.
Reassembly / Tie-Ins
Module positioning, field joints, piping/cabling, supports and inter-skid connections as applicable.
Pre-Commissioning
Inspection, cleaning/checks, instrument/electrical verification and readiness review according to scope.
Commissioning / Handover
Support operating checks, documentation handover, spares/training or after-sales requirements where contracted.
Engineering Inputs
A good skid RFQ defines both process duty and package interfaces.
When information is incomplete, the engineering review should identify the clarification points that materially affect process selection, layout, interfaces, transport and quotation.
Process Basis
Process Data, feed/product conditions, operating cases, required duty and utility availability.
Package Documents
P&ID, Equipment List, Data Sheets, line/instrument lists, control philosophy and Technical Specification.
Interface / Site Data
Battery limits, tie-ins, plot/GA constraints, transport/lifting limits, foundation/site interfaces and destination.
Quality / Delivery Basis
Applicable codes/project requirements, ITP, FAT/TPI, documentation, packing, commissioning and service scope.
Project Evidence
