Oilfield Process Storage Tanks

LINSON OIL supplies project-configured tanks for crude oil, produced fluid, treated liquid and intermediate process storage or buffering. Tank orientation, working volume, operating basis, roof or closure arrangement, nozzles, vents, drains, level interfaces, heating or insulation provisions, materials and corrosion protection are defined from the actual fluid, process duty, site layout and project specification.

Project-Configured Liquid Storage

Capacity, arrangement, materials, heating, venting, corrosion protection and accessories are confirmed from the actual fluid and site basis.

Storage / Buffer Function Logic

Size and configure the tank around the liquid-handling function - not around a catalogue volume.

A process tank can receive, buffer, store and transfer liquid while supporting level control, drainage, venting, heating or thermal protection where required. The design basis must distinguish atmospheric or low-pressure tank service from pressure-vessel duty before mechanical design is finalized.

  1. 01 / RECEIVE

    Receive the Liquid

Define inlet routing, expected flow variation, fluid condition, gas carryover, solids and upstream process interfaces.

  2. 02 / BUFFER

    Provide Working Hold-Up

Set working volume and operating levels from process continuity, transfer cycles, upstream/downstream availability and site constraints.

  3. 03 / MAINTAIN

    Maintain Fluid Condition

Add heating coil, tracing, insulation, drainage, mixing or other provisions only where the fluid and process basis require them.

  4. 04 / TRANSFER

    Transfer or Dispatch

Coordinate outlet, pump suction, loading, treatment, reinjection or downstream process connections with the operating philosophy.

Design boundary: if the required service is pressure-containing equipment beyond the selected tank design basis, it should be engineered under the applicable pressure-equipment requirements rather than treated as a conventional storage tank.

Applications

For oilfield liquids that require collection, storage, buffering or transfer.

This page covers general oilfield process/storage tanks. More specialized single-well collection or multifunctional collection equipment should use the dedicated product pages.

01

Crude Oil Storage

Intermediate storage and transfer staging for crude oil in field production and gathering facilities.

02

Produced-Fluid Buffering

Buffer service for produced liquids between separation, heating, treatment, pumping or collection steps.

03

Treated Liquid Storage

Storage or transfer buffer service for treated produced water, process water or other project-defined liquids.

04

Remote / Modular Field Sites

Tank arrangements adapted to plot, lifting, transport, foundation, climate and site-operability restrictions.

Tank Structure & Project-Selectable Accessories

Configure the tank around storage duty, fluid behavior and site operation.

Vertical/horizontal arrangement, atmospheric or project-defined low-pressure basis, roof/closure, nozzles, manways, venting, level instruments, drains, heating, insulation, tracing, materials and corrosion protection remain project-specific.

Tank Body & Arrangement

Vertical or horizontal configuration, supports/foundation interface and fixed-top or other project-approved arrangement are selected to suit duty and site layout.

Process Connections & Venting

Inlet, outlet, overflow/return, drain, vent/breathing and pump-suction interfaces follow the P&ID and operating basis.

Manways, Access & Cleaning

Manways, ladders/platforms, inspection access, sump/drain and cleaning provisions are configured for the selected maintenance philosophy.

Level & Temperature Interfaces

Local/remote level indication, alarms, temperature points, sampling and other instrument connections are included where specified.

Heating / Insulation / Tracing

Heating coils, electric-heating interfaces, insulation, cladding or tracing can be provided when viscosity, pour point, ambient conditions or transfer requirements justify them.

Materials & Corrosion Protection

Material, corrosion allowance, internal/external coating, lining or other protection is selected from fluid chemistry, water, salinity, solids and environmental exposure.

Engineering Inputs

Working volume is only one part of the tank design basis.

The project also needs fluid properties, operating levels, venting, heating, corrosion, layout, foundation and transfer interfaces. If part of this basis is missing, it should be clarified before the tank configuration is fixed.

Fluid & Storage Duty

Fluid type/composition, density, viscosity, water/solids, temperature behavior, gas carryover, corrosion basis and required storage/buffer function.

Capacity & Operating Levels

Required working/hold-up volume, normal/high/low levels, fill/empty cycle, inlet/outlet flow and transfer philosophy.

Tank / Thermal / Venting Basis

Atmospheric or project-defined low-pressure basis, vent/breathing requirements, heating/insulation/tracing need, ambient conditions and fire/safety interfaces specified by the project.

Site & Documentation

P&ID/Data Sheet, nozzle schedule, plot/foundation, transport/lifting limits, coating, inspection, documentation, client/EPC standards and destination requirements.

Manufacturing & Inspection

Fabricate the confirmed tank and verify the interfaces required by the project.

LINSON OIL coordinates material inspection and traceability, cutting/forming, welding, dimensional checks, nozzle/accessory inspection, applicable leak/tightness or project-defined fill testing, surface preparation and coating inspection. The inspection plan follows the tank duty, project specification and agreed ITP rather than automatically applying pressure-vessel requirements.

01

Material Control

Incoming material, MTC/identification and project-required traceability are checked before fabrication.

02

Fabrication & Welding

Plate preparation, forming, fit-up, welding, support/accessory fabrication and nozzle installation follow released drawings and procedures.

03

Inspection & Testing

Dimensional, weld, nozzle/accessory, applicable leak/tightness/fill and coating checks are performed according to project requirements.

04

Release & Delivery

Final records, packing, lifting/transport preparation and customer/EPC/TPI inspection support are arranged where included in scope.
