Condensate Stabilization
LINSON OIL develops project-specific condensate stabilization packages that reduce volatile components to meet the agreed downstream storage, transfer or processing basis. The route is selected from feed composition, operating conditions, product requirement, vapor destination, utilities and project battery limits.
Direct project evidence supports condensate stabilization using distillation and stripping principles. Flash, preheating, fractionation and vapor-handling steps are configured only where required by the approved process basis; no fixed RVP, stabilization temperature, tray count, reflux ratio, capacity, product yield or energy-consumption figure is treated as universal.
Feed Condensate
The stabilization route starts with the actual condensate composition and operating envelope.
A meaningful design basis should describe both the liquid feed and the vapor behavior expected through the package.
Composition & Volatility
Share condensate composition or laboratory analysis, dissolved/light components and any customer product-acceptance basis.
Pressure / Temperature
Normal, minimum, maximum and design conditions influence flash behavior, heating duty and column/process selection.
Water / Solids / Corrosion
Free water, solids, H2S/CO2 where relevant and other corrosion factors should be identified before material and pretreatment decisions.
Upstream / Downstream Context
Clarify upstream separator conditions plus the destination of stabilized liquid and separated overhead vapor.
Preheating / Flash / Fractionation Logic
Remove volatile components through a process route matched to the feed and product basis.
The sequence below is an engineering framework, not a fixed PFD. Individual stages can be combined, omitted or expanded according to the process calculation and customer specification.
- 01 / CONDITION
Condition & Preheat
Prepare the feed for controlled vapor-liquid separation using heat exchange or process heating where required by the selected route.
- 02 / FLASH
Flash / Vapor-Liquid Separation
Use pressure/temperature control and separation logic where the process requires initial removal of volatile components before further stabilization.
- 03 / STABILIZE
Fractionate / Strip
Apply distillation and/or stripping duty to separate lighter components from the condensate according to the approved process basis.
- 04 / HANDOVER
Handle Product & Overhead Vapor
Route stabilized condensate and overhead vapor to the agreed storage, transfer, recovery, fuel-gas, compression, flare or downstream-treatment interfaces.
Stabilization Route
Choose the simplest process route that satisfies the confirmed product and vapor-handling requirements.
The Longfengshan project evidence supports a condensate stabilization tower with both stripping and rectification sections. Other projects may use a different configuration depending on feed and product requirements.
Flash-Oriented Route
Consider when controlled vapor-liquid separation can satisfy the project basis without a more complex tower system.
Stripping Route
Consider where removal of light components requires defined stripping duty and vapor handling.
Fractionation Route
Consider where a rectification/stripping column arrangement is required by the feed and product specification.
Integrated Skid / Module
Coordinate vessels, heat exchange, columns, piping, valves, instruments, controls and transfer equipment within the agreed package boundary.
Off-Gas / Product Interfaces
Define where the stabilized liquid and separated vapor go next.
Stabilized Condensate
Storage, transfer, export, downstream processing, sampling and metering interfaces are defined from the project scope.
Overhead / Off-Gas
Route to fuel gas, compression, recovery, treatment, flare or another designated system according to the approved process basis.
Condensate / Drain Streams
Clarify closed/open drain, recovered hydrocarbon, water and maintenance-drain handling where applicable.
Control / Safeguarding
Define pressure/level/temperature control, shutdown logic, relief interfaces and customer control-system boundary.
Utilities & Battery Limits
Clarify the utility and site responsibilities before detailed package design.
Heating / Cooling
Available hot oil, steam, fuel, electrical heating, cooling medium or other project utilities where applicable.
Electrical / Instrument
Power, instrument air, signal/control interfaces, area-classification basis if specified and package control boundary.
Mechanical Tie-Ins
Feed, product, off-gas, relief, drain and utility connections with piping/interface responsibilities.
Site / Delivery
Plot space, transport envelope, lifting, installation, commissioning, packing and destination requirements.
Engineering Inputs
Good stabilization RFQs define the feed, product basis and vapor destination together.
Where information is incomplete, the technical review should identify the missing process and interface conditions before final equipment sizing and quotation.
Feed Analysis
Condensate composition, lab analysis, dissolved gas/light components, water/solids and corrosive components where relevant.
Operating Envelope
Normal/min/max/design flow, pressure, temperature, turndown and startup/shutdown basis.
Product / Vapor Basis
Required stabilized-condensate acceptance basis plus off-gas composition/pressure/destination requirements where specified.
Project Documents
Process Data, P&ID, Data Sheet, Technical Specification, Equipment List, GA/plot plan, utilities, ITP and FAT requirements.
Project Evidence
Longfengshan provides direct evidence for a real condensate stabilization process route.
The project source states that unstabilized condensate from metering and production separators enters the stabilization skid, and that the process uses distillation and stripping principles to remove lighter components. The stabilization tower includes both stripping and rectification sections, with condensate heated before entering the tower.
Evidence Boundary
Project-specific feed rate, product specification, tower internals, operating temperature/pressure, RVP, reflux ratio, yield or energy use are not reused as universal LINSON OIL performance claims.
