Crude Oil Electric Desalting Skid
LINSON OIL supplies project-configured crude oil electric desalting skids for field-treatment and crude-conditioning duties. Preheating, wash-water contact, demulsifier interfaces, mixing, electrostatic coalescence, oil-water separation, electrical systems, instrumentation and controls are defined from the actual crude properties, operating conditions and required downstream oil quality.

Project-Configured Crude Treatment Package
Stage count, electrode arrangement, mixing, wash water, chemicals and outlet targets are confirmed during technical clarification.
Desalting Process Logic
Condition the crude, transfer salts into the water phase and support controlled oil-water separation.
LINSON OIL does not present one universal desalting stage count, electrical scheme or guaranteed outlet condition. The final process is developed from crude properties, inlet salt/water, emulsion behavior, wash-water quality, downstream requirements, utilities and project specifications.
- 01 / CONDITION
Preheat / Condition Crude
Define required feed conditioning and heating duty from viscosity, emulsion behavior, existing upstream conditions and downstream process needs.
- 02 / CONTACT
Add Wash Water & Chemicals
Confirm wash-water source/quality and project-specified demulsifier or other chemical interfaces before fixing dosing or mixing arrangements.
- 03 / MIX
Mix Under Controlled Conditions
Select the mixing method and energy only after the emulsion, pressure-drop allowance and process objectives are understood.
- 04 / COALESCE
Apply Electric Field
Electrode layout, power-supply arrangement, protection and control philosophy are engineered to the approved project basis.
- 05 / SEPARATE
Separate Oil & Water
Control oil/water interface and route treated crude and separated water to the confirmed downstream systems.
Applications
For crude-treatment duties where salt, water and emulsion behavior require controlled conditioning.
Suitability is evaluated from crude data and downstream requirements. The page does not assume that every field or terminal requires electrostatic desalting.
Crude Treatment Facilities
Project-defined crude conditioning where salt and water reduction form part of the approved treatment scheme.
Gathering / Central Processing
Integration with upstream heating, separation, storage or downstream stabilization where required by the facility.
Emulsion-Prone Crude
Projects where crude viscosity, water distribution or emulsion behavior require coordinated heat, chemical and electrical treatment.
Revamp / Modular Packages
Project-specific skid additions or replacement modules configured around existing tie-ins, utilities and plot constraints.
Main Equipment & Configuration
Integrate the vessel, electrical system and process interfaces around one approved desalting basis.
The package may include selected equipment or a broader skid/module scope. Vessel orientation, stage count, electrical design, mixer type, chemical system and heating interfaces remain project-specific.
Desalter Vessel & Internals
Vessel geometry, inlet distribution, settling/interface zones, nozzles and internals follow the mechanical and process design basis.
Electrodes & Power Supply
Electrode arrangement, transformer/power package, insulators, protection, monitoring and interlocks are defined by the approved electrical scheme.
Wash-Water & Mixing System
Wash-water injection, mixer type, pressure-drop allowance and piping arrangement are selected from crude and process conditions.
Chemical Injection Interface
Demulsifier storage/dosing or client-specified chemical interfaces can be integrated according to the process scope.
Heating / Heat-Transfer Interface
Upstream heater or heat-exchanger duty can be coordinated where the process requires crude conditioning before desalting.
Instrumentation, Controls & Skid
Pressure, temperature, flow, level/interface instruments, controls, piping, structure and battery-limit connections are integrated to project scope.
Engineering Inputs
Crude properties, salt/water basis and outlet requirements drive the design.
If the crude assay is incomplete, send the available feed and operating data first. The missing process basis can then be clarified before vessel, electrical and package configuration is fixed.
Crude Feed Data
Flow range, crude assay, density, viscosity, water content, inlet salt basis, solids and emulsion behavior where available.
Operating Conditions
Normal/min/max cases, operating/design pressure and temperature, available pressure drop and upstream heating condition.
Treatment Objectives
Required outlet salt/water condition, downstream process needs, wash-water quality/source and separated-water destination.
Project Interfaces
PFD/P&ID, Data Sheet, Technical Specification, electrical supply, hazardous-area basis, controls, plot/transport limits and inspection requirements.
Manufacturing & FAT
Build and inspect the confirmed vessel, piping, electrical and skid scope.
LINSON OIL coordinates applicable pressure-vessel fabrication, piping prefabrication, skid assembly, instrument/electrical integration and project-defined testing. Inspection and FAT follow the approved specification and ITP.
Engineering Release
Approved P&ID, vessel/electrical data, GA, materials and inspection points are coordinated before fabrication.
Fabrication & Integration
Applicable vessel, piping, supports, instruments, electrical items and skid components are assembled to scope.
Inspection & Testing
Material, dimensional, applicable NDT, pressure/leak, electrical and control checks are performed as required.
FAT & Records
FAT, customer/EPC/third-party witness support and quality records are arranged where included in the project scope.
