Oil Collection Tank
LINSON OIL supplies project-configured oil collection tanks for crude-oil or heavy-oil gathering, temporary buffering, storage and transfer at single-well, well-pad and field facilities. Tank volume, arrangement, inlet/outlet piping, venting, level interfaces, pump connection, materials, corrosion protection and any heating or insulation requirement are confirmed from the actual crude properties, operating procedure and site conditions.

Focused Field Collection Equipment
This page covers crude-oil gathering, buffering, storage and transfer. Separation and metering are not presented as standard functions of an oil collection tank.
Collection / Buffer / Transfer Logic
Collect the oil, provide practical buffer capacity and transfer it under the project operating procedure.
Heating can support viscosity-sensitive crude or cold-weather transfer, but it is not assumed for every tank. The heating route, target condition and controls are selected only after crude properties, ambient conditions, transfer duty and available utilities are known.
-
01 / GATHER
Receive the Crude
Receive crude or heavy oil from a well line, well-pad manifold, collection line or other project-defined upstream connection.
-
02 / BUFFER
Provide Operating Buffer
Provide working hold-up between variable incoming production and the planned pumping, trucking or pipeline-transfer schedule.
-
03 / CONDITION
Maintain Transfer Condition
Use heating, insulation or tracing only where viscosity, pour point, ambient temperature or the operating procedure requires thermal support.
-
04 / TRANSFER
Pump or Dispatch
Coordinate outlet piping, pump suction, loading or pipeline tie-in with the required level-control and transfer operating sequence.
Applications
A focused tank for field crude collection and transfer duties.
For general plant storage or process-buffer service, use the Oilfield Process Storage Tanks page. For integrated separation, metering and other single-well functions, use the Wellhead Multifunctional Collection Tank page.
Single-Well Collection
Local crude collection and temporary buffer service adjacent to a producing well.
Well-Pad / Field Gathering
Collection and transfer staging where one tank interfaces with a well pad, manifold or field gathering line.
Heavy-Oil Handling
Projects where crude viscosity or cold conditions may justify project-selected heating, insulation or heat maintenance.
Truck / Pipeline Transfer
Tank outlet and pump interfaces coordinated for downstream loading, collection-line or pipeline transfer.
Main Structure & Configuration
Configure the tank and transfer interfaces around the field operating method.
Existing product evidence includes tank body/support, level indication, breathing/venting, inlet/outlet piping and an electrically heated configuration. For website and RFQ purposes, heating and every accessory remain project-selectable rather than standard on every unit.
Tank Body & Support
Tank geometry, support/elevation arrangement, access and foundation or skid interfaces are selected from working volume, site layout and transport requirements.
Inlet / Outlet Piping
Collection inlet, outlet, pump suction, loading/transfer, drain and return connections follow the P&ID or operating sketch.
Venting & Level Interfaces
Breathing/vent arrangements, level indication, alarms and other instrument interfaces are selected from the tank duty and project requirements.
Optional Heating / Heat Maintenance
Electric heating, other approved heating routes, insulation or tracing can be considered where the crude and transfer duty require temperature management.
Valves, Drainage & Access
Isolation, project-selected anti-theft or security provisions, drains, manways, cleaning points and access are defined to operating and maintenance needs.
Materials & Corrosion Protection
Material, corrosion allowance, coating/lining and external protection are evaluated from crude composition, water, salinity, solids and environmental exposure.
Engineering Inputs
The useful design basis is the collection pattern, crude condition and transfer method.
Working volume alone is not enough. The tank must also fit the incoming production pattern, required buffer time, crude viscosity and water/solids condition, available utilities, downstream transfer arrangement and site restrictions.
Crude / Fluid Data
Crude or heavy-oil type, density, viscosity, water content, solids, pour-point/temperature behavior and corrosive components where known.
Collection & Volume Basis
Single-well/well-pad source, incoming flow pattern, required working or buffer volume, operating levels and fill/empty cycles.
Heating & Transfer Basis
Required transfer temperature/viscosity if specified, ambient conditions, available heating utilities, pump duty and truck/pipeline destination.
Site & Project Interfaces
P&ID/sketch, nozzle schedule, venting, plot/foundation, lifting/transport, hazardous area, power, coating, inspection and documentation requirements.
Manufacturing & Inspection
Fabricate the tank and verify the field interfaces in the agreed scope.
LINSON OIL coordinates material inspection and traceability, plate preparation/forming, welding, tank/support fabrication, nozzle and piping installation, dimensional inspection, applicable leak/tightness or fill testing, surface preparation and coating inspection according to the released drawings and project ITP.
Material Control
Incoming material, MTC/identification and project-required traceability are checked before fabrication.
Fabrication & Assembly
Tank body/support, nozzles, piping interfaces, access items and selected heating or instrument interfaces are fabricated to released drawings.
Inspection & Testing
Dimensional, weld, connection, applicable leak/tightness/fill and coating checks are performed to the agreed inspection basis.
Release & Delivery
Final records, packing, lifting/transport preparation and customer/EPC/TPI support are arranged where included in the project scope.

Documented Equipment Evidence
Oil Collection Tank & Elevated Oil Tank References
Available source material documents an oil collection tank for crude/heavy-oil buffering, storage, heating and transfer, plus field elevated-oil-tank examples. Heating is treated on this page as project-selectable rather than a universal standard configuration.
Oil Collection Tank RFQ
Send the collection source, buffer requirement and transfer basis.
Share the crude properties, expected collection flow, working/buffer volume, operating levels, transfer method, pump interface, heating/insulation requirement, P&ID or field sketch, nozzle/venting requirements, site layout and Technical Specification. We will clarify the tank scope before quotation.
Detailed datasheets, drawings and project-specific technical documents are prepared after the operating conditions, scope of supply and commercial basis have been sufficiently clarified.
