Choke Heating & Separation Package

LINSON OIL supplies project-configured packages for wellhead and flowline duties requiring controlled pressure reduction, temperature management and downstream phase separation. Choke arrangement, heating method, two-phase or three-phase separation, metering, shutdown logic and hydrate/freezing mitigation are selected from the actual wellstream, pressure-temperature envelope and project specification.

Project-Configured Wellhead Package

The final train is engineered from the confirmed pressure drop, temperature behavior, phase duty, metering scope and downstream interfaces.

Wellhead Process Logic

Reduce pressure under control, manage the temperature consequence and separate the required phases.

Pressure reduction can cause significant temperature change and may create hydrate or freezing concerns depending on fluid composition and operating conditions. Heating is therefore treated as a project decision, not as a fixed step or guaranteed outlet-temperature solution.

  1. 01 / RECEIVE

    Receive & Isolate

Define wellhead/flowline tie-in, isolation, depressurization, bypass and inlet-protection requirements from the site operating philosophy.

  2. 02 / CHOKE

    Control the Pressure Drop

Select the choke or throttling arrangement from inlet/outlet pressure, flow variation, erosion/solids basis, controllability and shutdown requirements.

  3. 03 / HEAT

    Manage Temperature if Required

Evaluate expected post-throttle temperature, hydrate/freezing exposure and available utilities before selecting any heater or heat-transfer duty.

  4. 04 / SEPARATE

    Separate Required Phases

Configure gas/liquid or oil/gas/water separation, internals, level/interface control and sand considerations from the actual wellstream.

  5. 05 / METER & EXPORT

    Measure, Control & Route

Coordinate phase metering, sampling, instruments, ESD interfaces and outlet routing to gathering, treatment, storage, flare or export systems.

Applications

For wellhead and flowline duties where pressure, temperature and phase handling must be coordinated.

The exact process train is established from the operating envelope. The package is not presented as one standard well-test skid, heater skid or separator skid.

01

Wellhead Production

Controlled reduction of wellhead pressure followed by project-defined heating, separation and routing to gathering facilities.

02

Well Test / Temporary Production

Temporary or test duties requiring controlled pressure management, separation, sampling or metering.

03

Remote / Modular Sites

Skid-based packages arranged around transport, utilities, climate, hazardous area, local operation and maintenance access.

04

Brownfield Upgrade

Addition or replacement of pressure-control, heating, separation or metering functions around existing field interfaces.

Main Equipment & Configuration

Configure the pressure-control, heating and separation blocks around one operating envelope.

Choke type, heating route, separator orientation/type, metering, materials, hazardous-area equipment and control architecture remain project-specific.

Choke / Pressure-Control Assembly

Choke, manifold, isolation/bypass valves, pressure instruments and erosion/solids considerations are selected from the confirmed pressure-control duty.

Heating / Heat-Transfer Section

Wellhead heater, water-bath, vacuum phase-change, electric or other approved heating route can be considered where temperature management is required.

Separator & Internals

Gas-liquid or three-phase separator, internals, liquid sections, mist elimination and interface control follow the actual phase duty.

Metering & Sampling

Production/test metering, pressure/temperature measurement, sampling and analyzers are included only where specified.

Piping, Valves & Safeguards

Inlet/outlet piping, relief/depressurization, drains, vents, bypass, ESD valves and battery-limit tie-ins are coordinated to the project philosophy.

Electrical, Controls & Skid

Local/remote controls, alarms, shutdowns, hazardous-area interfaces, structural skid, access, lifting and transport provisions are integrated to scope.

Engineering Inputs

Pressure-temperature behavior and phase data drive the package.

If the full process study is not available, send the current wellstream data, PFD/P&ID, choke basis or downstream operating requirement. Missing heating and separation inputs can then be clarified before quotation.

Wellstream & Phase Data

Oil, gas and water rates; GOR; water cut; composition; density/viscosity; sand/solids; H2S/CO2 and other relevant components.

Pressure & Temperature Envelope

Inlet/required outlet pressure, normal/min/max cases, inlet temperature, expected post-choke condition and design P/T.

Hydrate / Heating Basis

Hydrate/freezing assessment or project requirement, required minimum process condition, available fuel/electric/hot-medium utilities and chemical strategy if specified.

Separation & Project Interfaces

Two/three-phase duty, phase metering, outlet destinations, control/ESD philosophy, hazardous area, materials, plot/transport and inspection requirements.

Manufacturing & FAT

Integrate pressure equipment, heating, piping and controls to the approved process basis.

LINSON OIL coordinates applicable pressure-equipment fabrication, heater/package integration, piping prefabrication, valve/instrument installation and electrical/control assembly according to the confirmed project scope. Inspection and FAT follow the project specification and ITP.

01

Engineering Release

Approved P&ID, equipment Data Sheets, GA, materials, controls and inspection points are coordinated before fabrication.

02

Fabrication & Assembly

Applicable vessel/heater, piping, valves, instruments and structural items are fabricated and integrated to scope.

03

Inspection & Testing

Material, dimensional, applicable NDT, pressure/leak, instrument, electrical and functional checks are performed as required.

04

FAT & Records

FAT, customer/EPC/third-party witness support and project quality records are arranged where included in the agreed scope.

Choke Heating & Separation RFQ

Send the wellstream, pressure-temperature envelope and separation duty.

Share available Process Data, PFD/P&ID, inlet/outlet pressure basis, temperature data, fluid composition/rates, hydrate or freezing requirement, separation duty, metering scope, Data Sheet and Technical Specification. We will clarify the final process train before quotation.

Detailed datasheets, drawings and project-specific technical documents are prepared after the operating conditions, scope of supply and commercial basis have been sufficiently clarified.
