Oil & Gas Fluid Pretreatment
Cyclone
Desander
Customized cyclone desander systems for removing sand and heavier solid particles from oil and gas production fluids before they reach downstream separation, piping, valves and treatment equipment.
Final cyclone, vessel, solids-handling and skid arrangements are defined from the actual process data, sand duty, operating conditions and project requirements.
Operating Principle
How a cyclone desander works
Production fluid enters the desander through a designed inlet arrangement that creates a controlled swirling flow. Centrifugal action moves heavier sand and solid particles toward the outer region of the flow path, where they are directed into a collection or discharge section.
The clarified fluid continues to downstream equipment while the accumulated solids are managed through the selected sand handling arrangement. Final configuration is developed around the actual fluid, solids, operating conditions and project requirements.
-
01
Fluid Inlet
Well fluid or process fluid enters the cyclone desander assembly.
-
02
Cyclonic Separation
Rotational flow separates heavier solids from the main fluid stream.
-
03
Collection and Discharge
Separated solids enter a collection, flushing or discharge arrangement selected for the service.
Project Use Cases
Typical applications
Cyclone desanders can be integrated into production and treatment systems where sand or suspended solid particles may create erosion, deposition, maintenance or reliability risks for downstream equipment.
Well Fluid Desanding
Pretreatment of produced fluids from wells where sand production or solids carryover requires evaluation.
Separator Pretreatment
Protection for three-phase, two-phase and other separator systems from sand accumulation and erosion concerns.
High-Sand Production
Production scenarios requiring an engineered solids-management approach based on available process information.
Downstream Protection
Support for reducing solids-related exposure of valves, piping, instruments and fluid treatment equipment.
Equipment Arrangement
Configured for the project
LINSON OIL can supply cyclone desanders as individual equipment or as part of an integrated skid. The arrangement is reviewed against process conditions, available plot space, operation philosophy, downstream protection objectives and project documentation.
Request Configuration Review01 / Supply Format
Standalone or Skid-Mounted
Supply may range from a standalone desander vessel or cyclone assembly to a skid with piping, valves, instruments, controls and support structure as required.
02 / Process Arrangement
Project-Specific Cyclone & Vessel Arrangement
The cyclone, pressure-retaining sections and connected process arrangement are defined from the actual flow, pressure, solids duty, maintenance philosophy and project specification.
03 / Solids Handling
Sand Collection and Discharge
Collection, flushing, isolation and discharge arrangements are selected according to operating practice, solids characteristics and site requirements.
04 / Materials
Erosion and Corrosion Review
Pressure-retaining materials, corrosion allowance, erosion-prone areas, coating / lining and other protection measures are reviewed against fluid composition, sand loading, H2S, CO2, salinity and client requirements.
Engineering & Manufacturing
From process review to fabrication & FAT
Cyclone desander supply can include the pressure-retaining equipment, cyclone / solids-handling arrangement, connected piping, valves, instruments and skid integration according to the defined project boundary.
- Pressure-equipment fabrication and dimensional inspection
- Piping, valves, instruments and skid assembly where required
- Applicable NDT and material / welding quality control
- Pressure / leak testing and FAT according to project scope
Technical Clarification
Engineering inputs for RFQ
Desander selection should be based on the actual service. If the information is incomplete, our engineering team can review the available documents and identify the key clarification points before preparing a technical proposal.
Preferred documents: P&ID, Process Data, Data Sheet, Technical Specification, fluid analysis, GA or site layout, and required downstream equipment protection scope.

Send your desander RFQ
Send your P&ID, Process Data, Data Sheet or Technical Specification for an engineering review. We can support customized cyclone desander equipment, skid systems and integrated project supply. Detailed datasheets, drawings and project-specific technical documents are prepared after the operating conditions, scope of supply and commercial basis have been sufficiently clarified.
