Four Reasons Clients Come to LINSON OIL for Custom Skid Manufacturing

Custom skid projects come from four distinct commercial situations -- each with different needs from the manufacturer, and each well-served by LINSON OIL's integrated engineering and fabrication capability.

Equipment trading and import/export
SCENARIO 01

Equipment Importers & Trading Companies: OEM White-Label Supply

Companies that supply petroleum equipment to international markets -- particularly in Africa, the Middle East, Central Asia, and Southeast Asia -- frequently need a China-based manufacturer that can produce certified, tested skid packages to their own brand and documentation standard.

The end client sees the importer's brand on the nameplate; the importer benefits from LINSON OIL's manufacturing cost advantage, certified production capability, and export logistics experience. LINSON OIL supplies custom-branded skids with documentation formatted to the importer's requirements, nameplates in any language, and export packaging to any destination.

Scenario 02 industrial equipment
SCENARIO 02

Engineering Companies with Their Own Process Design: OEM Fabrication-Only

Engineering firms, FEED contractors, and operators with in-house process engineering capability frequently have approved process designs and P&IDs -- but no fabrication facility of their own.

LINSON OIL manufactures to the client's approved process design, using the client's preferred equipment specifications, to the client's quality documentation format, and under the client's brand. The skid arrives at the project site under the client's documentation and branding -- LINSON OIL's role is the certified, licensed manufacturer behind the product.

EPC project multi-skid delivery
SCENARIO 03

EPC Contractors: Non-Standard Process Skid Packages

EPC project procurement frequently includes process skid requirements that do not match any manufacturer's standard product catalogue. The specific combination of process duty, equipment count, shipping envelope, utility constraints, and site classification produces a skid requirement that must be custom-engineered and manufactured.

LINSON OIL's OEM/ODM capability covers the full range of process skid types -- separation, heating, gas processing, chemical treatment, utility -- and any combination thereof -- as a single-source integrated supply to EPC project specifications.

Technology transfer or joint venture
SCENARIO 04

Product Developers and Private-Label Equipment Lines

Companies developing their own branded petroleum equipment product lines -- whether as new market entrants, technology licensees, or companies transferring production from a higher-cost country -- use LINSON OIL's ODM capability to develop and manufacture their products.

LINSON OIL provides the full design-to-production service: process design, mechanical design, control system development, prototype or pilot unit, production tooling, and series production. The intellectual property ownership arrangement is agreed upfront -- LINSON OIL can manufacture under client-provided IP, manufacture using LINSON OIL's IP under a licensing arrangement, or co-develop new IP for joint use.

OEM/ODM Track Record

LINSON OIL has supplied custom-branded and client-specification skid packages to equipment importers, EPC contractors, and private-label equipment developers supplying markets across Africa, the Middle East, Central Asia, and internationally. The same quality system and manufacturing licenses that cover LINSON OIL's own branded products cover all OEM/ODM supply.

What "Complete OEM/ODM" Means in Practice -- Every Step, In-House

LINSON OIL integrated capability overview

The Problem with Partial OEM

The most common failure mode in OEM petroleum equipment supply is the subcontracting chain: the OEM integrator subcontracts vessels to a vessel fabricator, piping to a piping shop, instruments to a panel builder, and PLC to a control systems house. Each subcontractor works independently; the integrator assembles the outputs. The result is that no single organisation understands the complete system -- and when the FAT reveals problems (and it usually does), each subcontractor has a contractual boundary at which their responsibility ends.

LINSON OIL's OEM/ODM capability is integrated because the engineering, fabrication, instrumentation, and control system work are all done by LINSON OIL's own teams, in LINSON OIL's own facilities, under LINSON OIL's own quality management system. There is no subcontracting chain to manage, no interface gaps to fall into, and no dispute about whose scope covers the problem when one arises.

01

Process Design (ODM) or Design Review (OEM)

For ODM projects: LINSON OIL's process engineers develop the process design from the client's brief (PFD, heat/material balance, equipment sizing, process design document).

For OEM projects: The client provides an approved process design. LINSON OIL's engineers review for manufacturing feasibility, code compliance, and constructability before fabrication begins.

02

Mechanical Design

Pressure vessels designed to GB 150 or ASME VIII. Heat exchangers to GB/T 151 or TEMA. Piping per ASME B31.3 or GB/T 20801. All mechanical calculations documented in a design dossier. For OEM projects, mechanical drawings are issued for client review and approval before fabrication release.

03

Fabrication

All pressure vessels fabricated in-house under A2 + high-pressure license. Pipe spools under GC2 piping license. No subcontracting of pressure-retaining fabrication. Welding by LINSON OIL-employed qualified welders under WPS/PQR. NDT by in-house CNAS-accredited laboratory.

04

Instrumentation

All field instruments sourced from agreed manufacturers (Rosemount, Yokogawa, Siemens, etc.) and installed by LINSON OIL's instrumentation team. Checked against P&ID and instrument index. For OEM projects, procurement is from client-approved vendor lists.

05

Control System / PLC Programming

PLC programme developed by in-house control system engineers (LINSON OIL holds software copyright). For OEM projects, programming is done to client's Functional Design Specification (FDS). PLC platforms: Siemens S7, Allen-Bradley ControlLogix, or client-specified.

06

Skid Integration

Equipment, piping, instrumentation, and control panels installed on structural skid frame. Cable tray/conduit routing completed. Hydraulic pressure tests of all piping circuits performed in the integrated skid condition. Interference issues resolved in the factory, not on site.

07

Factory Acceptance Test (FAT)

FAT structured to client's procedure. Covers dimensional inspection, 100% instrument loop check, valve stroke, control system function test (PID loops, interlocks, alarms), safety shutdown, and operational firing/energisation. Client or third-party inspector witness accommodated.

08

Custom Branding and Documentation

For OEM projects: nameplates engraved/printed with client brand, logo, and project data. All documentation (as-built drawings, P&IDs, manuals) formatted to client standard, in preferred language. LINSON OIL name excluded per agreement.

09

Export Packaging and Shipping Coordination

Export crating to ISPM-15. Shock absorbers for sensitive instrumentation. Nozzle blanking and preservation. Complete export documentation (commercial invoice, certificate of origin, inspection certificates). Freight forwarder coordination for international delivery.

Regulatory Coverage

LINSON OIL holds every license required to manufacture certified petroleum processing equipment: pressure vessel (A2 + high-pressure), pressure piping (GC2), pipeline installation (GC2), radiation safety, and CNAS laboratory. OEM clients receive products that carry genuine regulatory certifications directly from the licensed manufacturer.

No Core Subcontracting

Process engineering, mechanical design, vessel fabrication, pipe spool fabrication, instrument installation, PLC programming, skid assembly, and FAT are all performed by LINSON OIL employees in LINSON OIL facilities. OEM clients auditing the manufacturing facility audit the actual manufacturer -- not an integrator who manages subcontractors.

87 Patents -- Applied, Not Decorative

LINSON OIL's 87 patents (23 invention + 64 utility model) cover real equipment design innovations. For ODM clients developing new products, this technology base accelerates product development. For OEM clients requiring differentiated products, patented design features are available under licence.

International Delivery Experience

Cross-border export documentation, customs clearance preparation, sea freight crating, and international inspection coordination are routine operations for LINSON OIL's export team. OEM clients supplying international markets can rely on LINSON OIL's export experience rather than managing export logistics themselves.
