The He50 Well Area
Context & Requirements

Xianhe Oilfield producing well area in Shandong Province

The Xianhe Oilfield is part of Shandong Province's mature oil and gas producing region, characterised by long production history and high water-cut wells.

The He50 Well Area is a producing zone requiring a dedicated separation facility to handle its production stream. For this project, the operator's requirements combined three functions that are often procured separately:

1 Three-Phase Separation

The wellstream from He50 area wells -- containing oil, gas, and produced water -- required separation into its three phases before the oil could be metered and exported. The produced water content (water cut) of mature Shandong oilfield wells can be substantial, requiring a separator designed for stable oil-water interface control at varying water-cut levels.

2 Integrated Production Metering

Individual well area production measurement -- oil rate, gas rate, and water cut -- is an operational and commercial requirement. The metering system needed to be integrated with the separation equipment, not added as a separate procurement item requiring field interconnection.

3 Export Connection

The separated and metered crude oil needed to be connected to the field gathering system for export. The export connection -- piping, valves, and flow control -- needed to be designed as part of the integrated system, not designed separately and field-fitted to whatever the separator supplier delivered.

The operator's approach was to procure all three functions as a single factory-integrated skid package -- defining the outcome (separated, metered, export-ready crude oil) and placing responsibility for achieving that outcome with a single supplier. This is the project model that LINSON OIL's skid package supply is specifically designed to serve.

What "Factory Pre-Fabricated Skid Package" Means in Practice

For the He50 Well Area project, LINSON OIL delivered a skid package in which the following were assembled, connected, and tested at the factory before the skid left Dongying:

The Separation Vessel

Sized for anticipated oil, gas, and water flow rates. Internals: cyclone inlet, 316L corrugated plate coalescer, wire mesh demister, automated sand removal, float-ball level controllers. Designed per GB 150 under A2 license.

All Process Valves

Inlet isolation, choke/control, gas outlet pressure control, oil/water outlet level control (modulating 4-20 mA), safety relief, bypass and drain valves -- all skid-mounted with factory-fabricated pipe spools.

Metering Package

Oil flow meter (oval gear/Coriolis), gas flow meter (vortex/orifice with temp/pressure compensation), water handling connections, and totaliser/data logger -- all skid-mounted.

Control Panel

PLC with HMI touchscreen: oil/water level control, gas pressure control, production totaliser, alarms, and 4-20 mA / Modbus output to site SCADA. Pre-wired and loop-tested.

Structural Skid Frame

Structural steel base frame with equipment mounting pads, cable tray routing, and lifting pads. Designed to carry full load during transport and site installation.

Factory Acceptance Test (FAT)

Complete testing before release: visual inspection, instrument loop checks, full valve stroke tests, PID loop simulation, alarms/shutdowns verification, and metering calibration checks.

What This Meant for the He50 Field Installation

When the skid arrived at the He50 well area on a flatbed truck, the site scope was reduced to pure connection work:

  • Offload and set skid on prepared concrete pad
  • Connect inlet pipeline (one bolted flange connection)
  • Connect gas, oil, and water pipelines (bolted flanges)
  • Connect site electrical supply to incoming terminals
  • Connect SCADA communication cable
  • Verify instrument air & energise

"No field welding on process piping. No field instrument installation. No field control panel wiring. No field loop testing. The system that was FAT-tested in the factory was the system that was commissioned at the He50 well area -- not a reassembled version of it, not a field-completed version of it."

Why the He50 Skid Package
Matters as a Reference

Single-Source System Integration

The He50 project combined separation, metering, and export connection into one skid procured from one supplier. LINSON OIL designed the process, specified the equipment, fabricated the vessel, sourced and installed valves, wrote the PLC programme, and FAT-tested the system. There was no system integrator coordinating multiple sub-suppliers -- protecting the buyer from accountability gaps.

FAT as Quality Gate

The FAT conducted at LINSON OIL's facility verified every control loop, valve, alarm, and shutdown function. Issues were resolved at the factory. The commissioning team at He50 connected the skid to site utilities and energised it, with full confidence the system was already proven functional.

Rapid Deployment Outcome

The factory pre-fabrication and FAT approach compressed the field installation timeline for the He50 well area. The transition from skid delivery to first oil was measured in days rather than weeks -- a direct consequence of having a tested, assembled system arrive at site.
